Making your first wow macro

If you are unfamiliar with how to make wow macros, you have come to the right place. This article will help teach you the interface for adding your first macro and some simple macro commands.

To access the wow macro menu in game, press escape and click ‘Macros’

The wow macro menu is quite simple. As shown below.

1 – General Macros Tab
2 – Character Specific Macros Tab
3 – Created Macros List
4 – Selected Macro Icon
5 – Selected Macro Name
6 – Change Selected Macro Name/Icon
7 – Macro Code
8 – Delete Selected Macro
9 – Add a New Macro
10 – Exit Macro Menu

To start making your first wow macro, click ‘New’. This will bring up the menu below:

1 – Enter your wow macro name in here. Be as descriptive as you can.
2 – This is where you choose the icon for your macro. See top tip below.
3 – Accept your macro.
4 – Cancel your current macro creation.

Now you are ready to add your macro code into ‘Enter Macro Commands’. Try adding the code below:

/greet
/say Hello all!

After adding your macro code you can move the macro icon on to your action bar.

Try pressing the macro button on your action bar and see what happens!

Top Tip!

If you select the question mark macro icon, wow will try to find the macro icon for you by looking at the first ability used in your macro code.

    I’m looking for say somting 10 sec after use a cast. Can i do that with macro ?
